Given the Covid situation, travelers are required to submit a health declaration form and e-visa to tarvel to Turkey.

Covid Test Requirements

Vaccinated travelers from majority of the countries are not required to show a PCR test or quarantine on arrival in Turkey.
Vaccinated travelers from countries such as UK, Egypt, Singapore, and Iran are required to take PCR test 72 hrs prior to entry. Only travelers with negative results will be permitted.
Vaccinated travelers from countires such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, South Africa, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are required to show a negative PCR test 72 hrs prior to entry and also are required to quarantine for 14 days.

COVID vaccination passports or certificates are not mandatory to enter Turkey. If you are a Covid vaccine certificate holder, you won’t need to present a negative PCR test nor to follow a quarantine. However, this doesn’t apply to travelers from the Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, South Africa, India, Nepal, UK, Iran, Egypt, Singapore, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Quarantine Rules

Vaccinated travelers from countires such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, South Africa, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are required to show a negative PCR test 72 hrs prior to entry and also are required to quarantine for 14 days.

Travelers who test positive upon arrival are required to quarantine for 14 days. Passengers who are in quarantine are tested again after 10 days and if the result is negative they don’t need to quaratine further.

    An e-Visa is an official document issued by the Republic of Turkey – Ministry of Foreign Affairs permitting entry into and travel within Turkey. Around 30 million foreigners visit Turkey each year. 65 percent of them are exempt from visas. In order to attract the remaining 35 percent of the foreigners all over the world, Turkey has launched a new revolutionary online visa application system in 2013 for the citizens of more than 100 countries that enables the issuing of tourist visas within minutes with few conditions. Turkey issued 16,199,968 electronic visas between April 2013 and January 1, 2017. Acceptance rate was 87.79% as 18,452,733 applications were filed in this period.

    There are two ways to obtain an e-visa:

  • The Turkey eVisa validity varies depending on your nationality. It’s valid for a maximum of 30 Days or 90 days within a 180 day period.
  • The Turkey eVisa cost varies depending on your nationality. It ranges from USD 0 to USD 60.55 excluding service fees.
  • Assuming you meet the eligibility criteria, the processing time for eVisa varies from 1 hour to 24 hours.
  • Holders of passports of 40 countries and territories can obtain e-Visas online for a fee prior to arrival The duration of stay for most of these nationalities is 90 days (30 days for some) within 180 days.

  • You cannot apply or extend or amend the eisa while you are in Turkey. You have to exit Turkey before applying for a new e-visa. There are restrictions on airlines to fly to Turkey. The citizens of few countries are required to travel with Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Onur Air and Atlasglobal Airlines only as these airline companies have signed a protocol with the Turkish Foreign Ministry.   • Your passport or travel document must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of your arrival in Turkey.
  • Your passport or travel documents must be valid for at least 60 days beyond the “duration of stay” of your visa.
  • You must obtain a visa from Turkish missions BEFORE you arrive in Turkey.
  • To avoid delays in processing your application, you should apply at least ONE month before your planned departure date.
  • Once you have your e-Visa, you must make sure the information is exactly the same as the information on your travel document. Otherwise, your e-Visa will be invalid and you will not receive a refund.
  • You are not permitted to stay in Turkey beyond the validity of the e-visa. You must leave before the visa expires.
  • The validity period of your e-Visa is different from the duration of stay. You may enter Turkey at any time within the validity period which begins on the date you specified on your application.
